Hurt

"A little later she came to a spell which would let you know what your friends thought about you." - Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C. S. Lewis

I know what Lucy felt when finding out what others say of you when you're not around. Except, I didn't have to use a spell.

"I don't think I'd ever be able to forget what I heard her say." - Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C. S. Lewis

--------------
Just to clarify: its not a close friend. Really, I shouldn't have been suprised. But I was hoping for the best from that person.

New Job!

I have a new job, starting in the fall! I will be a ceramics teacher at a small art place that is designed to supplement a homeschool education. They had been looking for someone with a BFA in ceramics (I am one year away from that!), understands homeschool families (I was homeschooled k-12), and is a Christian. Though their studio space is small, it is very sophisticated, and rivals even KSU's art department for supplies and equipment. I will be thrilled to be working with children again (I will probably have classes with children of all ages up through middle school. I won't be able to teach high school until I have my degree), but I am nervous about creating lesson plans and actually teaching a group! But I definitely know that God provided this job for me, and He will supply the wisdom and grace needed.

From What, Vampires?

I decided to wear my gold cross every day of Holy Week. Not sure why, but I wanted to , and so I did. The other day at work, a lady commented on it: its very unusual. Not the cross itself, which a pretty, small simple cross, but the chain is. Its very very sparkly.

Anyway, back to my story. I explained to my customer why I was wearing it. She asked why I didn't wear it more often. "Because its gold," I explained. "I wear mostly silver jewelry."
"Then why don't you get a silver one?"
I nodded uncommittedly.
"Besides," my customer added, "the cross necklace protects you, don't you think?"
